All good things must come to an end

I have been working at my current job as a contractor for NIOSH in Morgantown,WV for 3 years part time during school and full time for a year. This month they notified me that the contract has run out of money. They are trying to find another branch or location for me to work in but its not looking very hopeful because I am unable to move. I am very thankful that my fiance has such a great job with the Pennsylvania State Police that pays extremely well. Thankfully we can hold our own even if I am unable to find a job. I went to school for an Elementary Education degree and graduated without my certification. I didn't student teach yet because I had my job and didn't want to give it up to student teach because I was getting paid so well. I missed the deadline to student teach next semester since this was sudden and I am going to student teach next fall 2010. In the meantime I am going to get my emergency substitute certification and sub as much as I can and take a few classes towards a post-bacc in early childhood so I can get a dual certification. After I get my certification I am going to take some graduate classes to go towards a reading specialist degree and try to get a job. I am actually happy that this happened because I have been unhappy at my job because it didn't feel like it was challenging me enough. Everything happens for a reason!

  1. Awww Natalie, I'm saddened to hear this happened to you, but you are right, things do happen for a reason and it sounds like you have an awesome back up plan. Life is to short to be in a job that you don't enjoy. Good luck with this new adventure in your life.
